Yodax is a search engine that takes user feedback on the results into consideration for the next
ranking calculation.
The system is split into 3 parts:
-
Web search: A "robot" spiders the network and
starts at the URLs, the users submitted into the catalog. After reading thru all the
URLs you registered, the ranking process starts and sites with a lot of votes
are take more strongly into consideration. The index is build.
-
Catalog: Here the users (you?) register their domains and URLs for the spider
and the sites are listed in a catalog form. We manually filter new suggestions and
check if it is spam or if it looks ok. From this poin the spider starts to read the net.
-
User area: Every user, who wants to participate on YoDax gets his/her own
subdomain login.yodax.com. Once registered, the users may vote or submit URLs for
spidering.
More infos will be put up over time. This is a new offer - it's free and it is fun
and a good example how to build a search engine.
